It’s been a long 39 days since Arsenal’s last Premier League match. The World Cup has been great to watch, however, after Sunday our focus will return to club football, and most importantly, ARSENAL!
The Gunners went into the World Cup break as the Premier League’s top club, holding a five point advantage over Manchester City.
As ten of our top international players played for their nations in Dubai, the Gunners non-World Cup players trained hard in both London and Dubai, and were even victorious in the Dubai Super Cup. With the long World Cup break almost over, the Arsenal team will reunite in London and begin preparations for Boxing Day’s match v West Ham United.
Predictions:
With Gabriel Jesus on the sidelines for an extended period, Eddie Nketiah needs to step-up, and fill Jesus’s big shoes. I believe Eddie will be very successful in this role.
Bukayo Saka is coming off a remarkable World Cup experience with England. I expect Saka to come back stronger than ever and have a very strong second half for Arsenal.
So, with all that said, can Arsenal hold on to claim the Premier League championship trophy in May? Obviously, there are a lot of matches to play, including two v Manchester City, however, this could be the Gunners year. Barring more serious injuries to key players, and with a few solid signings in January, the Gunners will be primed to have a very strong run to the finish line.
Mark my words!
Cheers.
