Congrats to Matteo Guendouzi for being named Arsenal’s Player of September. This award, as voted by the fans, is well deserved and shows how educated our supporters are when they watch Arsenal matches.
Why? Well Matteo doesn’t hit the headlines as a goal scoring maestro (just 2 for the Gunners so far), but he does draw the attention of supporters and opponents alike with his long, floppy hair, his unlimited energy and his nose for the ball. I’m not sure what his stats are for going after loose balls, but you have to think he has a ton. Matteo just has the innate ability to know where the ball is going, and the drive to keep working until he gets the job done. This tenacity has set him apart from other players on the pitch in several matches this season.
Yes, not all of his passes get to their intended targets, but at the end of the day Guendouzi has the dirtiest uniform, the tiredest legs and the biggest heart! He was a great recruit last year and we only hope he continues to grow and prosper in the Arsenal shirt. He’s a joy to watch and in my opinion will eventually become a solid team leader for this club both on and off the pitch.

The 20 year old has also been selected as a nominee for the Golden Boy Award. This prestigious honor is selected by the European press.
Including Matteo there are 4 players nominated from the Premier League. The award will be announced on December 16th.
