Besides the one point, there was a lot to take away from that wild and wooly football match on Sunday at the London Stadium. As a fan of the game, it was terrific drama to watch, however, as a supporter of the Arsenal Football Club, once again it was pure terror to watch!
So, what are the lessons learned from the 3-3 draw with the Hammers?
Lesson One: Don’t play like crap for 35 minutes and expect to win many games in the Premier League. Getting behind 3-0 can NEVER happen!
Lesson Two: Wake-up and play the game the way you train all week. The second WHU goal was the most embarrassing thing I have witnessed in football. C’mon man!
Lesson Three: Respect and execute the manager’s game plan. According to Lacazette, that’s what happened during those 35 horrible minutes of the first half.
Lesson Four: Whatever it takes this summer, SIGN MARTIN ODEGAARD!
Lesson Five: Give more game time to Calum Chambers. The young man was brilliant on Sunday as a fullback in place of Hector Bellerin!
Lesson Six: Bring Thierry Henry in to camp so he can show our forwards how to keep the ball on target when shooting in front of the net!
Lesson Seven: Keep at least one defender back in defensive half to slow down counter-attacks. When our fullbacks are pressing high up the pitch, Arsenal is too vulnerable at the back to properly defend the opponent’s counters.
Lesson Eight: Never turn off the TV when the Gunners trail because this is a team that will not lie down and die on the pitch. Sunday showed that new spirit and determination to win, no matter how dire the situation might be!
Those are enough lessons to take away from Sunday’s match, so have a great week!
The Gunners return to the pitch on April 3rd v Liverpool.
Cheers.
