The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports Real Madrid and Arsenal are close to an agreement for the permanent transfer of Martin Odegaard to the Emirates. Apparently, it’s not a done deal, however, Odegaard did not train with his Real Madrid teammates on Tuesday. Ornstein claims if all goes as planned, his transfer fee will be around $35-million (USD), and the midfielder could be in contention for Sundays’s match v Chelsea.
Football journalist Fabrizio Romana is also reporting, “Martin Odegaard has always been Arsenal’s priority, and now the deal is set to be completed, confirmed. Talks are in the final stages. Here we go – soon!”
Odegaard’s contract with the Gunners is expected to run through the 2025/2026 season.
In other transfer news, Arsenal continues their transfer approach for Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. SUFC manager Slavisa Jokanovic has confirmed Ramsdale wants to move to Arsenal, but there is no deal in place at the moment.
