Arsenal are close to finalizing a transfer deadline day deal for Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The 22-year-old hails from Japan, and currently plays for his national team.
At 6′ 2″, Tomiyasu is know for his quickness, aggressiveness and ability to play with both feet.
The Italian newspaper, Corriere dello Sport has praised him by saying, “He is a treasure.”
Former coaches and teammates have also given him high marks for his professionalism, attitude and knowledge of the game.
Mikel Arteta told Arsenal.com, “Takehiro is a strong defender with good experience in Serie A and at international level. He’s a versatile defender with great defensive qualities, high technical ability and composure on the ball. He will be an important member of our squad. We look forward to Takehiro joining up with us when he returns from international duty.”
During his professional career, he has made 158 appearances, and scored 5 goals.

Tottenham Hotspur were high on signing him earlier in the transfer window, however, as things work out, it appears the Gunners have found themselves a quality right back to replace the exiting Hector Bellerin.
