For weeks we have been hearing about Arsenal’s interest in Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.
But why, you ask? The answer is simple, Jesus is an extremely talented forward capable of playing in several attacking positions, including as a center forward, as an out and out striker, as a false nine, as an inside foreword, as a winger, or even as an attacking midfielder. That’s a player with extreme talent and versatility, right?
Arsenal needs a striker who can get the ball regularly into the back of the net. This past season the Gunners averaged just 1.7 goals per game overall, and 1.6 goals per game in the Premier League, which was 6th best in the league. Goal production is vital if Arsenal want to improve their status both domestically, and in the Europa League this coming season.
Jesus has proven he can score goals. Since becoming a senior player, he has scored 76 goals in 214 appearances for his clubs, and 18 goals in 55 appearances for the Brazilian national team.
Now with super striker Erling Haaland coming to Manchester City, Jesus will probably find himself primarily in a substitute role. With Arsenal he can be the main man to lead the offensive attack. This seems like a no brainer to me, however, as usual, money will probably be the determining factor for Jesus. Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed interest in the Brazilian striker.
Gabriel Jesus is my #1 choice for Arsenal this transfer market. Of course, a lot can happen, and will happen, between now and opening day in the transfer market. However, no matter whatever happens, let’s hope Mikel Arteta and Gaspar Edu find a man who knows how to score goals. For me, I hope it’s Gabriel Jesus.
Cheers.

Mikel Arteta said on Friday Bukayo Saka, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber are all in contention to be in the squad for Saturday’s match.
According to Graeme Bailey of TEAMtalk, Arsenal has intensified their interest in Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams as a top summer priority.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting Calum McFarlane will be the Chelsea interim manager until the end of this season.
Arsenal Women have confirmed Manu Zinsberger will leave the club at the end of this season. The Austrian goalkeeper has totaled 51 cleans sheets in 143 appearances for the Gunners.

Stat of the Day: David Rays has made 53 saves and had 15 cleans sheets in 33 appearances this season for Arsenal.
American movie star Anne Hathaway on the Gunners title chances, “They better. I believe in Arsenal.”
Gabriel Magalhaes, “We need to be strong on Sunday, We are at this club to play these kind of games.”

Ten Premier League managers have been sacked this season, including three at Nottingham Forest, and two each at Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

That goal to game ratio means 13 goals and that’s if he starts all premier league games. Nketia if primary striker probably gets 13 goals. Arsenal would be a better team with Jesus but I don’t think he’s a big enough step up.
