The Gunners preseason is off to a flying start!

Without question, Arsenal’s preseason is off to a flying start. Last night’s win over Everton is proof Mikel Arteta is moving this season’s squad in a positive direction.

Of course we need to remember this is still just preseason, and our first three opponents have not been of the highest caliber, however, what we are seeing on the pitch is a team determined to be aggressive with the ball in the final third, and then attacking the ball when their opponents have possession. These two traits have shown above everything else through Arsenal’s first three matches.

We also had a chance to see William Saliba on Saturday, too. The young French defender appears to be everything everyone talked about during his time playing in France. Saliba played a very nice game helping Matt Turner secure the clean sheet. In the second half Saliba played the middle man in a back three, and seemed just as comfortable in that role as when he played the first half in a back four with Gabriel. Hopefully, all the drama between Saliba and Arteta is in the past and the young defender can move forward and have a terrific career as an Arsenal player.

Obviously, the best part of the match was the early parts in the first half when Arsenal totally dominated the game. Attack after attack finally lead to Gabriel Jesus cleaning up a corner kick to score the first goal. The Gunners were ruthless on the attack with Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Jesus showing early signs of what the Arsenal attack can look like this season.

Now, it’s off to Orlando for a two-game slate with Orlando City, then Chelsea. The Chelsea match should be the most entertaining of the two, with Raheem Sterling joining the Blues and playing his old running mate at Man City, Gabriel Jesus.

This will a a London Derby, Orlando style!

I can’t wait for this one!.
