The skeptics will say, “We’ll you know, Arsenal hasn’t played any real competition this season.” But I would say, “Stick it up your pipe and smoke it!” ARSENAL 2 – Fulham1.
Winning the first four matches of a Premier League season hasn’t been accomplished by an Arsenal since the 1990’s. The Gunners are now 4-0-0. Tops in the Premier League!
The win over Fulham was not as easy as was expected. Former Arsenal #1 goalkeeper Bernd Leno put on quite a display in goal for the Cottagers. The Fulham defense was also extremely difficult to penetrate, however, the Gunners constant pressure in the second half attacking the Fulham ultimately paid dividends.
There were great performances today by Martin Odegaard and the entire Arsenal starting XI. Mo Elneny and Kieran Tierney made their first starts of the young campaign and played very well. Eddie Nketiah’s contribution off the bench sparked the offensive attack, as his fresh legs kept running the Fulham defense, creating options for himself, and the other frontmen late in the match.
Gabriel Magalhaes made a critical passing error that resulted in the Fulham goal, however, the young Brazilian defender kept his head in the game and eventually scored the match winner. Thats karma, baby!
The Emirate Stadium atmosphere appeared to be rocking today inside Emirates Stadium. The supporters were in full voice despite being kept on the edge of their seats throughout the contest.
Next up, Arsenal has two matches in the next seven days. First, it’s Wednesday at home v Aston Villa, then secondly, it’s off to Old Trafford to play Man United next Sunday. Hopefully, Thomas Partey and Alex Zinchecnko will be recovered enough to make the trip and possibly play in the match.
All-in-all, it was a great day for Gooner Nation!
Cheers!
