With just four matches into the season, Arsenal’s injury woes are beginning already.
The Athletic reports Mo Eleney injured a hamstring during the match on Saturday, however, the injury did not become apparent until later that evening. Elneny was filling in for the injured Thomas Partey in the Fulham match when his injury occurred.
Eleney now joins Partey and Alex Zinchencko on the Gunners injury list, along with Reiss Nelson.
This morning, Mikel Arteta updated the injury to Partey, “We still have to make another scan to see the length but I don’t think hy will be available. It is a similar area to the one that kept Partey out last season, but hopefully not as bad.”
The boss also confirmed Zinchenko will probably not play v Villa. This will obviously require Arteta to reshuffle his midfield line-up for the matches ahead v Aston Villa on Wednesday, and Manchester United on Sunday.
Arsenal is yet to report the Elneny’s injury, however, the club is probably waiting to see the extent of the injury, as well as how long the 30-year-old Egyptian will be sidelined.
With the summer transfer window closing, the Gunners might need to step up their pursuit of additional midfield back-up in order to offset further injury issues in the middle of the park.
Keep on eye on these developments throughout the week.

Everything is very open with a clear clarification of the issues. It was really informative. Your site is very useful. Thanks for sharing!
