The UEL Group A stage return match with PSV is set for Thursday at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, Netherlands. A draw will secure the Gunners a place in the knockout stage of the Europa League tournament.
Mikel Arteta hopes to get his squad back on track following Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Southampton, however, Thursday’s match will be no picnic in Eindhoven.
Arteta told Arsenal.com, “This competition is getting harder and harder and how it looks today and what the possibilities are, it looks like the next round will be extremely competitive. That’s why finishing first in the group and avoiding another two games is such an important thing for us.”
With that said, I predict a strong line-up, including some of the A Team regulars.
Here’s my predicted starting XI line-up v PSV…
[4-2-3-1]
Jesus
Nketiah, Vieira, Saka
Lokonga, Xhaka
Tierney, Gabriel, Holding, Tomiyasu
Turner
Predicted final score: PSV Eindhoven 1 – ARSENAL 2
