Still loved, but nearly forgotten, Kieran Tierney stepped up big for the Gunners in Emirates Stadium on Thursday with a huge first half goal. His goal assured the three points Arsenal needed to lock-up a place in the Europa League’s Round of 16.
Tierney has primarily been used a a reserve player this season, seeing on eight starts, but on this occasion, the young Scotsman made the most of his opportunity with a brilliant shot from just outside the box.
Creativity speaking, Thursday was not Arsenal’s best match of the season, however, again it showed how this team can band together and win games by the smallest of margins. The match v FC Zurich was the Gunners 7th win by a single goal this season.
Kudos to the lads for keeping their composure, for fighting as a team and for earning another clean sheet.
Also, it was great to see Mo Elneny back in the line-up, but concerning to see Takehiro Tomiyasu go down with another injury.
So, it’s on to Chelsea this Sunday.
I’m predicting big days for Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka!
COYG!
Cheers.
