How many times have you heard the phrase, “this is a must win game?” Probably more than you can remember, right?
The Gunners are struggling a bit at the moment, however, due to a VAR error, we should have won the Brentford match 1-0. That’s a tough pill to swallow, however, here we are, looking at a City team that trails Arsenal by only three points on the Premier League table.
Arsenal needs to find their confidence in the final third once again. The team has only scored one goal in the last three matches, while giving up three goals on set pieces. These are two areas I’m sure Mikel Arteta is stressing with his team this week in training.
Paul Merton and a few other pundits think an Arsenal defeat will spell the end of the Gunners title hopes. Personally, I don’t think that’s true, however, I do believe an Arsenal win would ignite as fresh reboot to the season.
Is it a must win? Maybe not a must win, but a very important one to say the least.
With that said, here’s my projected starting XI v Pep Guardiola’s side on Wednesday…
[4-3-3]
Trossard, Nketiah, Saka
Partey, Odegaard, Xhaka
Zinchenko, Gabriel, Saliba, White
Predicted final score: ARSENAL 2 – Manchester City 1

Regardless of whatever happens vs City on Wednesday, ARSENAL ARE WINNING THE PREMIER LEAGUE THIS SEASON.
If anything happens to Partey we will greatly struggle. However, Jakub Kiwior is the most similar player, the closest to Partey for the DM role.
Arteta must trust Jakub Kiwior as the most formidable backup for Partey.
No Jorginho please!
Arsenal will win the league this season.
I don’t think Ben White should start that match. Remember he’s been poor recently he can’t defend aerial duels , while on the other side we have Zinchenko who leaves Gabriel exposed. We really need Tomiyasu at RB and later bring on Tierney. Also think Nketiah should not finish matches,he needs to be subbed of for either Martinelli or Trossard. But as we know Arteta he only does direct substitution,a player must be subbed by his backup according to him. So Nketiah has no backup hence can’t be subbed no matter how poor he is
