“I’m ready if you need me”

Gabriel Martinelli told Mikel Arteta before Sunday’s match, “I’m ready if you need me,” and boy did those words mean everything to the outcome of the win v Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta and his team deserve all the credit in the world for their outstanding victory over Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City club. Martinelli’s goal was only one of the great performances put on display by the Arsenal squad.

Everyone was concerned the absence of Bukayo Saka would be a devastating blow to the Gunners chances, however, even without their world class winger, Arsenal stepped up and brought the house down with a dramatic 1-0 victory!

Arteta’s change at halftime, replacing the injured Leandro Trossard with Martinelli, proved to be the most critical move within the game as the Brazilian scored in the 86th minute to secure the win and give Arteta his first Premier League win over Guardiola.

Let’s not forget the magnificent performances of Martin Odegaard, David Raya, Gabriel Jesus and Declan Rice. Plus, William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes dominated the goal scoring giant Erling Haaland. At the end of the day, the Sky Blues managed only four shots during the match, the lowest for the Citizens since 2010

At this point, I could get all gushy and teary-eyed thinking about Sunday’s huge win, however, let’s not forget the Gunners have a major clash with Chelsea when the schedule resumes in 12 days.

Now, it so important for need Saka, Trossard and Saliba to get healthy, and to get ready to cross town to Stamford Bridge ands kick some more blue ass on the 21st!

Congratulations to the boss and his boys for a remarkable Sunday for Gooners around the globe. It will be a day to remember!

Come On You Gunners!

Cheers!!!
