Sporting Director Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta completed their summer transfer dealings on deadline day by signing 23-year-old Piero Hicapie for a season-long loan from Bayer Leverkusen.
Arsenal’s 8th signing of the summer will wear the #5 shirt.
At Leverkusen, the defender made 100 appearances after joining the German club in 2021. He was also an important member of the 2023/2024 club that won the Bundesliga.
Hicapie hails from Ecuador where he is also a member of his nation’s national team.
So, with eight new signings coming in to North London this summer, the Gunners have also seen eleven teammates move on, either permanently or on season-long loans.
