Arsenal is off to a flying start!

No one can claim about the start of the Arsenal campaign. Two matches, two wins, six goals scored and two clean sheets.

The team knows what is at stake. The Premier League championship was won last season, now, this is a new season, with a lot of matches to play, and trophies to win.

Friday’s match went as expected. Arsenal controlled the match from the very start v a club that just came back to the Premier League following a two decade absence. The Gunners looked fresh and threatening throughout the contest, while Coventry learned a quick lesson on what this league is all about.

Welcome Ezri Konsa to the squad. The former Aston Villa defender will add experience and needed depth to already solid back line. Once William Saliba returns to the line-up, it will be hard to find a better group of defenders than the Gunners will have available. With Cristhian Mosquera and Konsa in the mix, Mikel Arteta will be able to rest Gabriel and Saliba more often throughout the season.

So, now it is a nice, long week to recover and prepare for Aston Villa at Villa Park.

This will also provide Bruno Guimaraes time to recover from a thigh strain he picked-up in training last week.

And, with the transfer window come to an end, it will be interesting to see who comes in and who goes at from the Arsenal squad.

Viktor Gyokeres did not play on Friday, while Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus did not even make the bench, raising questions about all three. Martin Zubimendi did play some, however, the Spaniard could still go before the window shuts. And, then there is Kepa Arrizabalaga. How knows?

Here we go!

Cheers.
