Now that we have had some encouraging news on the transfer front, let’s turn our attention to Monday’s 4th FA Cup match v Bournemouth.
As we move deeper into this season, the FA Cup and the Europa League are taking on more importance for the Gunners. Winning either competition provides a pathway to European competition next season.
Manager Mikel Arteta understands the need to win compete in the FA Cup:
“We’re going to fight for every competition we are in. I know what it means to this club to win that competition and we need to get back winning. We need to get back up there and having everybody talking about us. We need every competition to try and do that.”
Arsenal has won the FA Cup more than any other club…13 times. The FA Cup is in our club’s DNA.
Bournemouth is struggling right now in the Premier League. They are currently in the relegation zone in 18th place, however, you can never overlook Eddie Howe’s side. So far this season, the Gunners beat The Cherries at the Emirates in October 1-0, and then had a 1-1- draw with them in December at the Vitality Stadium. So, our lads need to go in there on Monday and give a full throttle performance to advance to the 5th Round of this great competition.
Memo to Mikel Arteta: “Take no prisoners in Monday’s clash!”
