What a great day, following a great day!

Good morning Gooners, wherever you are!

Doesn’t it feel great to start a new day knowing our club has finished the 2019-2020 season with the FA Cup trophy securely placed in the club’s trophy cabinet?

I’m sure a few repairs were in order to re-attach the base to the Cup, however, whether it’s in one, two or three pieces doesn’t matter. All that matters is that the Gunners have won the FA Cup for a record 14 times! Our north London neighbors have won only 8 times.

Arsenal have won 4 of the last 7 FA Cups! Not too bad, Gooners!

As you can imagine, the post-Cup celebration was filled with a lot of good feelings, pats on the back, and hopes for a brighter Arsenal future.

I love notes and the quotes, so we go…

The boss had this to say to Gooner Nation in his post-match remarks, “Thank you for everyone for being so supportive. We knew that there were expectations and this trophy is for you. There is still a long way to go of improving on many things, but I’m very proud of the fantastic players and the staff. Again, thank you so much for the support and the belief.”

Here’s a tweet from long time Arsenal fan and critic, Piers Morgan, “Dear Aubameyang, please don’t leave. You’re our captain, best player, and a wonderfully positive leader for our club. I think Mikel Arteta is building something special, but he needs you to drive it. If you stay, you’ll get the fans’ undying love and a statue.”

Auba followed with this comment, “I’m not really thinking about this. I just want to enjoy this with the guys and take the trophy. I think we deserved to win. Everyone gave their best today for the team, and yeah, we deserve it. The journey has been long but today we’re enjoying this great game.”

Arteta reacted to Auba dropping the trophy and to the Talisman’s future, “He needs more experience with trophies, we can get him more used to that. He knows what
I think about him. I want to build the squad around him. I think he wants to stay and its just about getting the deal done. I believe these moments will help him realize and believe that we are in the right path and he is a big part of that. He is loved by everybody at the club. Hopefully, he can continue with us.”

Emiliano Martinez might have been the most emotional following the game, and had these thoughts, “I never wanted to go back to Argentina with empty hands. After a decade, to win the FA Cup with Arsenal, playing a key role in the game, I could not be prouder.”

Dani Ceballos was also emotional with his comments, “If I had to choose Arsenal again, I would. Right now I feel like a leader of this important team, a player with stripes. Surrounded by people who believe in you, it is easier to believe in people. When you play like this and you also have the confidence of the coach, everything is easier.”

Granit Xhaka posted this on Instagram following the match, “What a season! With ups and downs! With faith in yourself and this team, you can do anything!! This trophy is very important for all of us, the whole club. But it is also for all who have supported us! Thank you! 💪🔥🙏

The exiled Mesut Ozil, who watched the match from Turkey, posted on Instagram, “Great job my boys!

And finally, in a true act of class, Mikel Arteta said this about his mentor, Pep Guardiola. “I have to thank you Pep in a very big way because I am a manager in a big part to him so I have to consider that as well.”

What a great day, following a great day!

Cheers, and stay healthy and safe!

  1. I’m impressed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both equally educative
and engaging, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the
head. The issue is something which too few people are speaking intelligently about.
I’m very happy I found this during my hunt for something
    concerning this.
