Willian is officially a Gunner!

Willian Borges da Silva has inked a 3-year contract with the Arsenal Football Club. The 32-year-old Brazilian international will wear the #12 for the Gunners. And this Gooner is thrilled to have him join the squad!

After putting pen to paper, Willian gave these comments to Arsenal Digital, “I like the way they play, everything is amazing, the stadium, and I think that with Arteta, Arsenal have a great opportunity to fight again for titles in the Premier League and in Europe so I’m very happy because of that. I’m excited to start. I can’t wait to go on the pitch and do my thing to help my team-mates and to help this club to shine again. That’s what I want. When I talked to Mikel, the conversation was good, he gave me confidence to come to Arsenal. He said a lot of good things to me and that’s why I have come to Arsenal.”

Mikel Arteta is thrilled to have a player of Willian’s caliber join the team. He also spoke this morning with Arsenal Digital. “Again, it is the character that I want, the kind of player that when things get difficult in the game that wants to take responsibility, wants the ball and wants to win the game for the team and I think it is going to be a really good lift for all the players as well in terms of the quality we are bringing to the squad.”

So, with that deal done, the Arsenal brass can continue to focus hard on Aubameyang, Partey, Ceballos, Coutinho and Gabriel.
If Arsenal plays their cards right, this could be an amazing transfer window for the Gunners. Of course, it will take some time, some luck and a lot of money!
