During any transfers window it’s hard to separate fact from fiction. Right? Well, this summer’s window is no different. It’s always a rollercoaster ride as we await any glimmer, any flicker of news from the Gunners’ camp on who will be their next transfer signing.
Well, guess what, this window is no different, however, two sources in the UK are reporting the following…
First, Football.London is reporting Lille and Arsenal have a agreed to a (give or take) $29-million (USD) transfer fee for defender Gabriel Magalhaes, after beating both Napoli and Manchester United to the finish line.
Then, the Daily Mail is reported Arsenal Gabriel will be in London tomorrow to take his Arsenal medical.
Both news items are exciting, and together spell a possible, and I mean a possible, happy ending to this transfer saga.
Here’s what I have been able to learn about the 22-year-old Brazilian…
He played 34 matches for Lille this past season. He is left-footed, a superb tackler, very aggressive, big and physical, solid in the air, and has the long ball passing abilities of a David Luiz. This young man seems to have all the tools to be a successful defender in the Premier League!
Let’s hope an announcement comes soon, so we can welcome Gabriel to Arsenal!
Cheers, and stay healthy and safe!
