Goals have to begin coming from someone, but from who?

I’m going to try to be as optimistic as I can about the Arsenal Football Club in this post, however, it will be extremely difficult.

My frustration is running high at the moment because I really thought the Gunners had enough talent to beat both Aston Villa and Leeds United. However, after those two matches we earned 1 of those 6 potential points.

To make matters worse, let’s take a look at scores from Arsenal’s last five Premier League matches: 0-1 , 0-1, 1-0, 0-3, 0-1.

Gooners, our club has scored only one goal in the last five PL matches! Are you kidding me? With Aubameyang, Lacazette, Pepe and Willian leading the front line, one would have to think that goal total would, or should, be a lot higher, Right?

Has Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff spent too much time focussing on defense, and forgot how to provide an adequate plan for the offensive side of the ball?

Is our midfield so concerned about protecting the back line that they don’t have the energy to service the front line?

I mean, there has to be some reason why our goal scoring production has dropped off the charts.

Obviously, Arsenal’s Premier League campaign is not going the way we had hoped, and now Mikel Arteta is now under pressure from his bosses, and from the club’s supporters to turn things around, and turn them around quickly.

Now, let’s been realistic as well. The Gunners still have 29 Premier League matches to play. All is not lost at this point of the season. We only trail the league leaders by 7 points, and we are only 5 points out of 4th place, so again, all is not lost.

However, the club’s current trend of not scoring goals needs to get resolved. Clean sheets are great, but 0-0 draws won’t get us into next season’s Champion League.

COYG!
