In all reality, the Gunners could have scored 4, 5 or even 6 goals on Sunday at Craven Cottage.
During a first half football master class, Arsenal looked like a team playing to the left the {premier League trophy at the end of the season.
You talk about focus, drive, motivation, desire and teamwork – it was on full display during the first 45 minutes of Sunday’s match v Fulham.
Everyone, including yours truly, expected a more competitive game from Fulham. However, the Gunners produced such dynamic play it was impossible for the home side to ever get into the game in the first half. I would like to have seen more of that in the second half from Mikel Arteta’s squad, however, Arsenal seemed to take their foot off the accelerator just enough to give the Cottagers some breathing space, and even some dignity. Otherwise, it could have easily been 6-0, or maybe more.
Special recognition goes to Leandro Trossard his best performance as a Gunner. Trossard produced three assists in the first half alone, which set a Premier League all-time record.
Also, congratulations to Mikel Arteta for winning his 100th match as the Gunners boss.
Even though I thought it was too early, how great was it to see Gabriel Jesus return to the pitch on Sunday. After an injury, surgery, rehab and three months off the pitch, Jesus provided a preview of what we can expect to see from him going forward.
All-in-all, it was a great day for Gooner Nation!
Next up, Sporting CP on Thursday in a win or go home UEL Round of 16 match-up, followed bys Crystal Place on Sunday before the final international break of the season.
COYG!
