Okay, the Euros are over, the summer break is over, and thankfully even preseason is over, and now it’s time for the real show to begin – Premier League 2024/2025!
What can we expect this season from the Gunners? Will the club jump off to a strong start, struggle around Christmas and then again in April? Please, please, let’s hope that pattern will not be repeated this season!
With some luck, a healthy squad and a lot of strong play, this could be Arsenal’s season to lift the Premier League trophy on May 25th. Mikel Arteta has been so close the past two season, missing by 5 points in 2022/2023 and just two points last season. The football gods have to be on Arsenal’s side this season to help provide the extra boast the club will need to see their dream come true!
However, as always, Manchester City will be in the race for another league title. Aston Villa will be a contender, as will Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and maybe even Manchester United. It’s really anyone’s guess as to which club will win the league, however, it’s not as hard to pick which clubs will be in the race for the top four spots.
The Gunners will need big seasons from every member of the squad. The Gunners defense looks extremely strong again, and with the additions of Riccardo Calafiori and Jurien Timber to the back line, the defense should be even better than 2023/2024.
The midfield will also be very strong with Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard leading the way. If the club can sign Mikel Merino, the midfield depth will be better than ever in the center of the park
My concern will be the front line. Obviously, Bukayo Saka needs to produce a lot of goals and assists, while Kai Havertz needs to come out early showing the form he had at the end of last season. Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli need to have big production numbers as well, plus Gabriel Jesus needs to bring his preseason form into the regular season in order for the club to be successful up front.
David Raya will be the main man between the sticks, but his back-up is in doubt. Aaron Ramsdale is sure to go elsewhere, leaving Karl Hein as the potential #2 for the Gunners.
So, a fast start, and the club gelling early will provide a huge boast to any title chances we expect them to have. Start strong and finish strong is our hope for this season.
As far as I’m concerned, I believe this is Arsenal’s season to win trophies. I predict they will win the Premier League and at least one of the cup competitions as well!
