Expecting a draw but witnessing an amazing night at the Emirates!

Tuesday was a day that will be long remembered by Arsenal supporters around the world. The boys beat defending Champions League titleholders Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of the UCL quarterfinals at home in Emirates Stadium.

The biggest part of that amazing night were the two unbelievable free kicks by Declan Rice. Free kicks that stunned the football world. Anyone who is a football fan anywhere have been talking about those two goals all day!

This was one of those nights that will long be remembered in north London, and possibly the most memorable night in Mikel Arteta’s coaching career.

The stars were aligned, the stadium was buzzing, the players were inspired, but I was expecting a 2-2 draw. However, I was never so happy to be proven wrong by a team that has already proven me wrong several times this season.

This writer is really at a lose for words today. I am so proud of Arteta and his squad for the performance they orchestrated v Real Madrid. Hopefully, Tuesday will night be a springboard for the rest of the season beginning on Saturday v Brentford.

The season is far from over as we collectively hold our breath for even better things to come before the end of May.

Cheers!

  1. Not sure about Saturday’s game against Bremtford TBH. Arteta will want to protect the likes of Saka, Martinelli, Timber etc, so will probably put out a team similar to the one that drew with Everton last Sunday. Another draw looks likely.

  2. certainly like your web site but you need to check the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I to find it very bothersome to inform the reality nevertheless I will surely come back again.
