At the end of the day, Arsenal dropped 25 points to the 12 clubs finishing below them in the final table. They won 22 points against the 7 teams that finished ahead of them in the league standings.
In my opinion,Β Arsenals’ most crucial lost points were against Aston Villa, Wolves and Everton. Against these three clubs, the Gunners won exactly zero points. The Gunners also picked up only 1 point v Burnley, who finished 17th.
Against the top six clubs in this year’s final league table, Arsenal picked up 17 points out of a possible 36. However, against Chelsea, Arsenal won both matches and all 6 points!
Numbers don’t lie.
