It ain’t over until the fat lady sings! There’s still hope on two fronts

There’s not much to say about the Aston Villa match, other than it was a very disappointing second half performance during a heated title run.

As of today, the Gunners are two points behind Manchester City on the league table. To be realistic, Arsenal needs to win their remaining six Premier League matches, and hope Man City either draws or gets beat at least once.  The Gunners also need to main their goal differential lead over Pep Guardiola’s side in case a tie breaker is needed to determine the league champion.

Another Arsenal defeat, and the club’s title dreams will probably be gone.

On Sunday, Villa had just two shots on goal. Unfortunately, they both went in. Arsenal had 18 shots with four on target, but nothing went in. Final score, Arsenal 0 – Aston Villa 2.

Unai Emery now has the bragging rights over Mikel Arteta for the 2023/2024 season. The former Gunners boss won both matches v Arsenal this campaign by a combined scored of 3-0.

Take a look at the final ten Premier League matches for the current top three. With four of those matches played, it doesn’t look any easier for Arsenal, but possibly easier run-ins for both Manchester City and Liverpool.

With a huge Champions League match set for Wednesday, Arsenal needs to forget about Sunday and rebound quickly for Wednesday. A win in Munich would be a huge boost for Arsenal and get them back on track for the final stretch of the season.

We can’t give up yet. There is still hope.

As the saying goes, “It ain’t over until the fat lady sings.”
