It’s like kissing you sister

In the States, we say a tie is like kissing your sister. (You decide what that means) So, if that’s the case, Arsenal has kissed its sister 12 times this season in the Premier League, winning just 12 points out the 36 available in those matches.

This is a big reason while Mikel Arteta and his troops are currently trailing Liverpool by 12 points in the race for the league title. The club has lost 24 points in league draws. Take away just one half of that number and the league title race would become s a lot more exciting than it currently is.

Let’s take a look at the long list of Premier League draws this season for the Gunners…

August 31st v Brighton and Hove (1-1)

September 22nd v Manchester City (2-2)

October 27th v Liverpool (2-2)

November 10th v Chelsea (1-1)

December 8th v Fulham (1-1)

December 14th v Everton (0-0)

January 4th v Brighton and Hove (1-1)

January 18th v Aston Villa (2-2)

February 26th v Nottingham Forest (0-0)

March 9th v Manchester United (1-0)

April 1st v Everton (1-0)

April 12th v Brentford (1-1)

Now granted not all of those matches were winnable, however, the true nature of a champion is to fight hard to win as many of those contests as possible. Some of these matches were indeed winnable yet the squad never gave up on any on them.

Let’s hope this summer’s transfer window is the club’s ownership will make the right calls on the right players to bring more scoring power to one of the best defensive and special teams clubs in Europe.

Come on you Gunners!
