NBC Sports will remain the TV home of the Premier League in the U.S.

As many expects predicted, NBC Sports has been granted the United States TV rights to the Premier League through the 2027/2028 season. I really thought CBS had a shot, but what do I know?

Anyway, NBC, USA and Peacock will be the primary sources for all Premier League matches, continuing NBC’s superb coverage of the Premier League since they began at the start of the 2013/2104 season.

Remember, NBCSN goes dark on December 31st.

Reportedly, the Peacock network had stiff competition for the new rights package from all of the major U.S. sports networks, including a bid from the Amazon streaming service, however, NBC’s recent success with the Premier League and their willingness to cough up an estimated $2.5-billion (USD) over the next six years probably helped to seal the deal.

Richard Masters, Premier League Chief Executive said, “We are delighted to announce our new U.S. broadcast deal with NBC Sports, who have been brilliant partners for the Premier League over the last nine seasons. NBC Sports has significantly strengthened the popularity of the League in the United States in that time through its fantastic coverage and promotion.”

So, for all of us Yankees who watch a lot of Premier League matches, we’ll get to see a lot more of Arlo White and Lee Dixon in the years ahead! And, that’s not a bad thing.

Cheers to NBC Sports!
