As you might have noticed by now, I love numbers. Why? Well, numbers don’t lie, unless they are manipulated by humans.
So, I thought I would do a little statistical homework, comparing Arsenal’s record after fifteen Premier League games, beginning with the 2015/2016 season.
Why would I do this, you ask? Well, I’m looking to see if there has been any improvement over those years with how the Gunners have played in those first fifteen league matches. I think you’ll find these numbers to be enlightening.
With that said, here they are..

Long story short, Arsenal has not improved in this comparison. Instead, the Gunners have gotten worse.
Now, numbers don’t always tell the whole story, however, they do show a trend, and in this scenario, the trend is declining.
Do we blame Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff? Do we blame the players? Or, do we blame the entire Arsenal operation for failing to improve the club’s record during the first few months of the season?
By having these recent mediocre starts to the season, the chances for a strong finish in the Premier League, and a spot in European football the following season, are diminished.
So, there you go Gooners, some food for thought.
Cheers.
