Should the Premier League season resume, or not?

Should the Premier League season resume, or not?

Here’s my overall opinion on the entire subject…

First, I still think the season should be cancelled, and next year’s European spots should be based on last year’s final table. There should be no promotion or relegation, and no champion named either. I know, this would be a tough pill to swallow for some, especially in Liverpool, Leicester City, Leeds and West Brom.

Second, if the Premier League does restart in order for the league to save their TV rights fees, I think the only smart thing to do is what one of the proposals suggests. Play all of the remaining PL games in Wembley, while isolating players, coaches and support staff in hotels during the duration of the remaining schedule. This would suck for those quarantined and their loved ones, however, the safety and health of them and their families must come first.

Third, allow every game to be televised free of charge in the UK, and anywhere else premiums are paid.

Fourth, do not allow games to be played in front of any fans. No matter what system is put into place, the underlying issues could lead to disaster.

No one misses watching the Gunners more than myself, however, I have come to the realization the COVID-19 pandemic has changed our lives, not only now, but for the future as well. Take a deep breath, and stay patient. We will get through this.

Cheers, and stay healthy!
