We’ve all been there. Too many cocktails the night before, then the hangover the day after. That pretty much describes the way I feel this morning. The one exception, there was no alcohol involved, just a miserable ending to the match at Brighton and Hove.
When Pepe hit his screamer I thought okay, maybe this is the start of something. My bad again. The wheels came off, and instead of the Gunners moving ahead of Tottenham into 8th place in the table, we slipped to 10th.
Here’s what Mikel Arteta had to say post-match, “I think we did a lot of things today to win the game comfortably, but we haven’t competed like you have to compete in the Premier League. We gave the first goal away and we lost a few important duels afterwards, so I think it’s all our fault. It’s not the first time it has happened, and if you want to win games consistently at this level, it’s a must and non-negotiable. I think they competed for large parts of the game, but in crucial moments when you don’t, you pay the price and that’s it.”
There’s really nothing in this statement I would disagree with, however, when he talks about not competing, especially in critical moments, that’s what bothers me the most. Whose responsibility is that? Of course, it’s the players’ job to compete, and the manager’s job to make sure they compete. Am I right, or not? Arteta’s statement really worries me. It really goes to the core of the team’s problems. It comes down to having or not having the will to win at any cost. I just haven’t seen that type of commitment in the Gunners’ first two games after the restart.
Here’s something else that I don’t understand. Why isn’t Mesut Ozil on the pitch? Arteta says “he not ready to play.” Than why was he in yesterday’s 20 man team? Here’s our most expensive player, a World Cup winner, and a world class player riding the pines on the bench. What does Arteta have to lose by putting him in to the game? I mean really. I see no midfield spark, no creativity. The Arsenal forwards are trying to do all of the offensive creating themselves. They need Ozil’s brilliance to provide that spark and to create more chances. Get him on the pitch! We don’t have time to play head games with players! The clock is ticking…
So, now on Thursday we head to Southampton for another Premier League encounter. Playing the Saints on their ground is always an adventure. Again, this will be a must win for Arsenal if they have any hope for European football next season.
I just hope my hangover is gone by then.
Cheers, and stay healthy and safe!

Hi, just wanted to mention, I liked this article. It was inspiring.
Keep on posting!
A person essentially lend a hand to make seriously
articles I might state. This is the very first time I
frequented your web page and so far? I surprised with the analysis you made to create this particular submit extraordinary.
Wonderful activity!
Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely
long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted
and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new
to everything. Do you have any recommendations for first-time blog
writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
Hi, always i used to check website posts here early in the break of day, because
i love to gain knowledge of more and more.
Whoa! This blog looks exactly like my old one! It’s on a completely different topic but it has pretty much the same
page layout and design. Wonderful choice of colors!
Ahaa, its good discussion concerning this piece of writing here at

This design is spectacular! You obviously know how to keep
a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos,
I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Great job.
I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
Too cool!
Way cool! Some extremely valid points! I appreciate you
writing this article and also the rest of the website is also really good.
Definitely imagine that that you said. Your favorite justification appeared to be on the internet the easiest
factor to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely
get annoyed whilst people consider issues that they plainly don’t recognise
about. You managed to hit the nail upon the highest and outlined out the
whole thing without having side-effects , people
could take a signal. Will likely be again to get more.
Thank you
Very energetic article, I liked that bit. Will there be
a part 2?
My family always say that I am wasting my time here at net, except I know I am getting knowledge every day by
reading thes nice posts. 0mniartist asmr
