Mikel Arteta faces his most difficult challenge and stretch of the season, as the Gunners face Liverpool on Thursday, Tottenham on Sunday and Liverpool again the following Thursday.
Coming off two straight defeats, rotating a depleted squad for these matches will be extremely difficult, but the club needs to find the right combinations or the season could begin to crumble before our eyes.
As previously noted in past posts, the Gunners have a serious defensive midfield problem. Thomas Partey and Mo Elneny are away at AFCON, while Granit Xhaka is out with COVID. That leaves Sambi Lokonga and teenager Charlie Patino to shore up the middle of the park in front of the back line. This duo was not successful in their time together on the pitch v Nottingham Forest, so I don’t expect Arteta to pair them together v Liverpool on Thursday.
With that said, here is my revised starting XI v the Reds at Anfield for the Carabao Cup semifinal leg one match…
[4-4-1-1]
Nketiah
Lacazette
Martinelli, Lokonga, Xhaka, Saka
Tavares, Gabriel, Holding, Cedric
Leno
Predicted final score: Liverpool 1 – ARSENAL 2

Arsenal will thrash Liverpool if their is a god
Liverpool conned everyone to postpone the first leg of this semi. They said they had half the team with covid. A proven total load of crap. They all had false positives, why weren’t second tests immediately done, why, well that’s why they are called scowsers. They lie, steal and cheat, that and prostitution.is what the town of Liverpool is based upon. The universe will reward Arsenal in this.semi, red cards for the Scouse and goals galore for the gunners, i.am that confident I am gonna put couple buck on us to win by two or more.
I came across this on a sportsbet website. It reinforces my above post that Liverpool are cheats .
. Statistically speaking, the chance of getting a false positive is about 0.05%, so, the chance of getting five false positives is roughly 0.000000000000003%, so make of that what you will.
