The road ahead doesn’t get any easier for the Gunners

The Gunners road doesn’t get any easier in the Premier League between now and the end of the year.

When the season resumes following the November international break, Arsenal will travel to Leeds United. The newly-promoted side has shown they are here to stay with a nice start to their season. Leeds trails Arsenal by 2 only points in the league table.

Then five of Arsenal’s following seven opponents are currently in the league’s top ten.

November 28 – Wolves (9th)

December 5 – @ Tottenham (2nd)

December 12 – Burnley (19th)

December 15 – Southampton (4th)

December 19 – @ Everton (7th)

December 26 – Chelsea (5th)

December 28 – @ Brighton and Hove (16th)

So, if Arsenal plans to start making up ground, winning points and getting in a better position going into the second half of the league season, the rest of November and all of December is key to their success.

Mikel Arteta has a small window of opportunity to find goals from somewhere on his squad. The big three of Aubameyang, Lacazette and Willian are not delivering the goals required to win games, plus, the boss is still searching for a consistent combination in his midfield to help supply those chances.

The health of Thomas Partey is also a concern. Let’s hope the two week break will give him ample time to recover.

So, Arteta and his staff have a lot to chew on over the next few days before the squad begins preparations for Leeds United.
