Come on, it’s not time to panic!
Yes, the Gunners were lackluster and out-played on Saturday. Yes, Arsenal was beaten by the bottom club on the Premier League table. Yes, we have lost two matches in-a-row by the same 0-1 scoreline. But NO, this is not the time to panic. Now, if this continues over the next few matches, then we might have something to worry about. However, in the meantime, keep the faith. We have a manager and a group of players who will not give up, who will fight and claw their way back on the right track.
Mikel Arteta said this in his post-match comments following the Everton defeat, “This journey is going to be difficult, challenging and there’s going to be big stones in the middle that we have to overcome and now we have to prepare this week really well to get to Saturday with the right emotional level and the right spirit to beat Brentford.”
Eddie Nketiah echoed those sentiments, “Not everything is going to go your way, especially when you’re pushing and trying to achieve great things. So the togetherness we’ve got here alongside the fans’ support, we’re going to bounce back. I know we’re going to get a good result on the weekend.”
The Gunners lacked the overall desire and drive to win on Saturday, That was evident. The club is 28 matches into a very long season. I’m not making excuses for the outcome at Goodison Park, however, to keep that high level of play match after match is extremely difficult. Just ask any professional athlete. However, with the recent January additions to the squad, and with the solid core of terrific young players we have, I believe this group of Arsenal players will achieve great thing this year.
It’s our job to support them, even when things don’t go our way. We are Gooner Nation – win, lose or draw together!
COYG!
