William Saliba did not play, even though he was on the bench. Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi were absent, and so was Mesut Ozil, who many thought (including me) might get some playing time today. As we know, the German remains in limbo, or should we say, exile. So, what is Arteta’s plan with the World Cup winner? To me, it looks like he will just let Ozil run out his contract without seeing the pitch this season. What else could it be?
Now quickly, here’s a statistic that is extremely promising for us Gooners!

The squad has five days until their first big test of the Premier League season when they travel to Liverpool. Another win v the Reds would set the tone, and let England and all of Europe know the Gunners are back!
