Three points are vital

Going to London Stadium on Sunday will be Arsenal’s next step towards winning a Premier League title this season. Three points are not only necessary, they are vital.

The Hammers have struggled all season under David Moyes. They stand 14th on the current league table, but only three points safe from the relegation zone.

West Ham has a match on Thursday in the Europa Conference League at KAA Gent in Belgium, so this will give the Gunners a little extra advantage going into the weekend with fresher legs.

Arsenal won the first meeting of the season against these two London rivals on Boxing Day in Emirates Stadium. The final was 3-1 on goals by Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah.

It will be interesting to see who Mikel Arteta puts on his starting XI team sheet on Sunday.

Does he start his usual XI, minus Saliba, or does he mix it up a little? I think he will go with the usual.

Alex Zinchenko needs to get back on the pitch to restore his defensive confidence, and Leandro Trossard will remain a sub.

We will find out Sunday.

Side note: It will be fun to watch Declan Rice play against his future (hopefully) teammates.

  1. Can I simply say what a relief to uncover somebody that truly understands what they are discussing over the internet. You certainly know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people must look at this and understand this side of your story. I was surprised that you are not more popular given that you most certainly have the gift.
