This has been a bad week for Arsenal in the two domestic cup competitions.
First a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal on Tuesday, then a FA Cup third round 3-5 shoot-out loss to 10-man Manchester United today.
The other bad news, Gabriel Jess was stretchered off the pitch in the FA Cup match, leaving Mikel Arteta only four forwards left standing for Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.
However, there is hope since Arsenal is in the a transfer window, and they need to bring in a striker – ASAP!
The goals ares not coming, and neither will the wins, nor the points, if things don’t change real soon. We need consistency upfront to score the goals we just can’t seem to get in at the moment. We know the boss can be a stubborn man, but this is not the time to sit back and do nothing in the January window. The club is not at a crisis point yet, but one could be coming if the club doesn’t start scoring more goals consistently.
The Gunners are 2nd in the Premier League, 3rd in the Champions League and still alive in the Carabao Cup, so there is still a lot of football to be played. We only hope the club doesn’t let these three remaining opportunities for trophies slip away by not bein proactive in this transfer window.
Come on Arsenal, open the pocket books and bring in a top striker looking for a new home! The time is now and there will be no other chance to strengthen the squad until the summer.
