What to expect Saturday at King Power Stadium

3rd vs. 5th sounds like an intriguing matchup, right? Well, there will be more to the story than football when the Foxes entertain the Gunners on Saturday.

What can we expect from Leicester City in this important Premier League match-up? Well, to start with, let’s toss up a few of their stats…

After 11 games in the Premier League, Leicester City are 3rd with 23 points. They have 7 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats, while leading the league in most goals scored and fewest goals allowed. Plus, our old friend Jamie Vardy is currently the PL’s top goal scorer with 10. And, to top that off, on October 25th the Foxes destroyed Southampton on the road, 9-0. You would have to agree these are very impressive numbers.

Since Brendan Rodgers arrived from Celtic, the Foxes have played some terrific football. Rodgers has them well-organized and playing up to their potential, including wins in 4 of their last 5 games in all competitions.

Rodgers is quoted on the Leicester City FC website saying: “Firstly, you’ve got to defend well, you’ve got to work on it every day, and then of course, you can have more opportunities to score goals. The players have been absolutely first-class. It comes from training. Not just the players who are playing, but also the ones who are not playing.”

For Leicester City, their goal on Saturday will be to continue their winning ways and head into the international break on a high note, with momentum and confidence.

For the Gunners, the goals on Saturday will be to find some positives in their performances, and to save Unai Emery’s job…at least for now. Dropping points on Saturday is not an option for Arsenal. A defeat would undoubtably drop them deep into the middle of the table, and would create more uncertainty in the organization while further sinking the team’s level of confidence.

Currently, Jamies Vardy and his band are hitting all the notes, while Aubameyang and his group are currently flat and off key.

On Saturday, let’s hope the Gunners can find the right notes, put all of the noise to the side, play together as a unit, find some goals, defend better, and bring 3 points back to north London. This is a tough ask, but a necessary one.
