Who is Plan B behind Ben White at right fullback?

Now that Takehiro Tomiyasu is out for the season recovering from a knee injury, and now that Arsenal has sent Cedric Soares on loan to Fulham, who will be Ben White’s cover art the right fullback position?

Hopefully, with just ten matches remaining, White will remain fit and injury-free. He has had a very strong season on the right flank for the Gunners, however, no one is bullet-proof and having a back-up in this position could be vital later in the season.

So, who is Plan B at right fullback?

Here are a few “guesses” from Yankee Gooner if Mikel Arteta is forced to rotate his squad to fill the right full back position…

Alex Zinchenko would be my first choice, and then replace Zinchenko with Kierean Tierney on the left side.

Or, have Granit Xhaka play the right fullback position, and move Fabio Vieira into Xhaka’s midfield position.

Or, could Jorginho switch to the right fullback slot? I don’t know if he has ever played that position, but it’s just a thought.

Or finally, recall Ainsley Maitland-Niles from loan at Southampton and put him at right fullback, leaving the rest of the regular starting XI in-tack. AMN has settled in nicely with the Saints this season in the right back position.

Anyway you shake it, the scenarios are not the most inviting, however, at this stage of the season, the Gunners do find themselves very thin at that position, and do need a Plan B.
