Who should Arteta start v Leeds United on the 22nd?

Okay Gooners. We have 11 more days until the Gunners play their next match, so let’s use that time to create the best Arsenal line-up we can to start against Leeds United.

Here’s mine…

[4-3-3]

Goalkeeper: Bernd Leno

Defense: Kieren Tierney, David Luiz, Gabriel, Bellerin

Midfield: Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey, Dani Ceballos

Front line: Bukayo Saka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe

We know Mikel Arteta and his staff are watching a lot of game footage trying to figure out a way to become more offensive minded.

With that said, I propose that Arteta return to a back four, allowing Tierney to move more forward on the left side to provide more crosses into the box. Overall, this formation will provide more men forward, and more offensive punch.

Xhaka can line-up in front of the back four, allowing Partey and Ceballos to be more attacking minded when the Gunners have possession. Our front line needs more chances. Period!

Also, since the front line needs a serious spark or two, I would start Saka and Pepe on the flanks, and allow Auba to play more central in front of goal.

By the way, this is the exact front line Yankee Gooner readers voted as Arsenal’s best front trio during a recent YankeeGonner.net poll.

So, my overall concept is to sacrifice a little defense, while trying to create more offense.

I look forward to your starting XI suggestions!

COYG!
