Woe is me. Woe is us. Woe is Arsenal.

I’m not sure what to say, what to think, or even what to write this morning.

The Arsenal Football Club is in a downward spiral of epic proportions, and remain in 15th place in the Premier League label, just 4 points above the relegation zone.

Now, I’m not going to start worrying about Arsenal being relegated this season. I really think that is just plain crazy to discuss at the moment, however, the proof does lie in the numbers that our beloved team is floundering near the bottom where they can’t seem to escape.

Mikel Arteta seems to have the backing of his owner and club executives, however, how long will that last? No matter the long term goals, or his plan to get there, this club is establishing a misery not seen for decades in north London. This is not the Arsenal we know. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

When a football team can’t score goals from open play, game after game, something needs to be done, and quick.

How long does Arteta have to turn this nightmare around? How long until Gooner Nation implodes and looses faith altogether?

Sorry for all the negative, but enough is enough. Not only are we sliding down the table, we are sliding into the abyss of football.

Arsenal is now the laughing stock of English football, and that hurts.

Tuesday is the Carabao Cup quarterfinal match v Manchester City. I hope the manager sends out a squad for this game that has some youth and determination. If Willian, Elneny or Pepe start, I’ll probably just turn off the TV and grab a good book to read.
