3-4-3…Should Arteta switch to this formation?

For me, Arsenal’s 4-3-3 formation isn’t working, so I think it’s time to switch to a 3-4-3, especially with the signing of Takehiro Tomiyasu.

So, with that said, here is my 3-4-3 formation, including Arsenal’s best XI to make it work.

[3-4-3]

Saka, Aubameyang, Odegaard

Tierney, Lokonga, Smith Rowe, Tavares

Gabriel, White, Tomiyasu

Leno (or Ramsdale)

Please send your thoughts, suggestions and ideas!

Cheers.

  1. The obvious right thingy to do if you contrast the current Chelsea coach after he replaced Frank Lampard, is Arteta has not stabilised the team and must go. There is no recognisable individual playing football except staying in formation, perhaps to Arteta’s demand. It is disgusting watching how the players against Man City. The attitude of the players are pretty bad. They run into formation robotically bit forgot how to play and enjoy football.

  2. I would have:
    Auba
    Smith Rowe, Pepe
    Tierney, Partey/Sambi, Odegard, Saka
    Gabriel, White, Tomiyasu
    Ramsdele

  3. Stop the ridiculous panicking! 3 games in,our target this year is to avoid relegation and gel this squad together,a place in Europe would be a bonus.Grow up the Wenger era has gone,we are NOT anything but mid table right now! Stop the unrealistic expectations!

  4. Agree. Wondering if AMN plays RWB instead and if this may have been part of his discussion with Arteta in their clear the air talks. The only other thing I would say is that it will almost certainly be a 3-4-2-1 with Saka, Odegaard, and ESP rotating within the 2 CAM setup that it is rumored Arteta is considering. Academic since it will of course change in play.

  5. If you put Leno at goal, its sure Aresenal will lose games. My thought is Arsenal should sell Leno and give Ramsdale chance insteed. Current Arsenal players should be sell.

  6. Our defence is not up to just 3 ATM. I like 4. Gives coverage and we want white to be the next Tony Adams. With 4 it allow midfield to push up more and put pressure on opponents. 4 allows white to cover and control the other 3. He has to be in charge of the backline.

We have to spend more time in opponents half and midfield needs to play faster, like pinball. With 4 in back that will allow them to create, instead of defend. If you don’t score you don’t win.
