Let’s get real. There are just two choices Arsenal has following Tuesday’s awful loss…
1) Blame everything and everyone for the defeat at Wolves, or
2) Suck it up, let it go, learn from it and move on.
It’s really no more complicated than that.
Did we have some bad luck when 2 shots struck the woodwork?
Was David Luiz’s red card a bad call?
Did the Gunners outplay Wolves and deserve to win the match?
In my opinion, it’s yes to all three of those questions, however, at the end of the day we still lost, 2-1.
Mikel Arteta had the right attitude following the game, “I’m so proud of the players because of the way they reacted in the second half, the way they tried to win the game, it’s magnificent.” [courtesy of Arsenal.com]
The boss was absolutely right to make those remarks. The squad did play hard when down to 10 men, and then to 9. Even then, they were trying to find a way through to equalize or even win the match. No one gave up.
Now that attitude must carry on. Football, like life, is full of surprises and disappointments. Yes, yesterday was a disappointment, but one this club can learn from and go on to overcome.
Yes, our 7 game undefeated string of matches in the Premier League is over. So why not start a new one?
Now, it’s off to Villa Park to face a very tough Villa squad. Emi Martinez and his teammates manhandled the Gunners 3-0 on November 8th. On our own pitch, no less. It’s Arsenal’s worse defeat of the season, which now sets-up a really juicy rematch on Saturday,
COYG!
Cheers.
