Here’s a ranking that really means “beans,” but at the same time it does give football supporters a basic idea of where their team ranks among the 619 professional clubs around the globe.
With that said, Arsenal ranks 29th. Seven Premier League clubs rank higher than the Gunners in the Project 538 world rankings.
Manchester City is #1, Liverpool #3, Manchester United #7, Chelsea #9, Leicester City #16, Wolves #18, and sad to say, Tottenham Hotspur topped us by one at #28.
With the Gunners missing out on Champions League football over the past few seasons, and then finishing 8th this past season in the Premier League, it’s no wonder the Gunners’ world ranking is lower than one would hope.
However, Mikel Arteta will surely brings this number up in the years ahead, but I doubt if he is too concerned at this point.

There is abundant hope that things will surely turn around for the better. I still believe that the blame lies on Arsene Wenger and his lieutenants who passionately made a great club extra-ordinary only to allow it to disintegrate abysmally after reaching their optimal and had nothing left to offer.
Anyhow, better days will come because we can never go lower than where we are at present.
I don’t see how this ranking could be calculated.
What factors can be used in determining the world’s elite teams? Here are the factors that come to my mind
1. Trophies won.
2. Infrastructure and longevity.
3. Size of fanbase.
4. Squad Value
5. Revenue generating potential.
How does Manchester City top this list? The only factor they have on their side is maybe their squad value. It’s ludacris to say any of those teams barr Manchester United and Liverpool are ahead of the Arsenal as elite teams.
