Arsenal’s next four matches are vital

There are just four more matches to play before the next international break, and even though I’m not a huge supporter for these breaks, I think the next one couldn’t come at a better time.

Here’s what Mikel Arteta and the Gunners need to accomplish in the next four games before that break…

1) Arsenal needs to win each game to rebuild confidence. One, two or more defeats in the next four matches could spell big rouble for the club.

2) Arsenal needs to begin scoring goals. Aubameyang, Lacazette and the other forwards are all in scoring slumps. They need to find goals in these four games.

3) Arsenal needs to avoid further injuries. In particular, the back line is almost in crisis mode with so many of the regulars injured or recovering.

Here are the four games we are taking about…
October 29 Dundalk
November 1 @ Manchester United
November 5 Molde FK
November 11 Aston Villa

Here’s what Arteta and the Gunners need to do during the international break…

1) Arteta needs to get more defenders healthy and ready to play.

2) Arteta needs work on ball control, ball movement and passing accuracy.

3) Arteta needs to find a midfield that compliments each other by rotating positions on the pitch, and by creating chances.

We are hardly in a panic mode at this point, however, the Gunners’ last three performances were troubling to watch. Two of those matches were shutout losses.

Thursday will be a good test, though we expect our starting XI to consist mostly of back-up players. Even so, a good performance would motivate the entire club. Manchester City is on the horizon, and the squad needs to rebuild the momentum they had earlier in the season.

Even at such an early stage in the Premier League season, it it vital the Gunners don’t drop too many points and dig a hole that is impossible to climb out of during the rest of the season. If Arsenal truly has Champions League ambitions, they better begin playing like it.

Come on you Gunners, let’s regroup, rebound and win!

Cheers.
