Arsenal Football Club have moved Thursday’s pre-match press conference to Friday.
Mikel Arteta will be named the Gunners new manager at that press conference.
It has been reported Arteta gave an emotional farewell speech to his colleagues at Manchester City Thursday morning before heading to London to finalize his deal with the Gunners front office.
Arteta’s contract is reported to be $6.5 million USD per year for 3 1/2 years. The team’s owners have also guaranteed he will have a January transfer budget.
Freddie Ljungberg will most likely be the field manager for Arsenal’s game at Everton on Saturday with Arteta in the stands.
Arsenal Wenger has publicly supported the hire, saying “he has all the qualities to do the job.”
Arteta has also been quoted in the past as saying, “anyone playing for me must give 120%.” I like the sound of that, since most of the Gunners first team have not been playing to their potential.
More to follow.
Cheers. Gunner1953
