Could either of Arsenal representatives, Ainsley Maitland-Niles or England team newcomer Bukayo Saka, be in the starting XI?
Southgate has already been impressed by Saka. The England boss told the Mirror, “I’ve loved getting to know him this week, a really charming personality you can really see how excited he is by everything. Also he is an exciting player, we know he can play four different positions already. He’s done that for Arsenal – wide left, wide right, wing back, left back. I think out and out left back at this level would be a little bit more difficult but any of those advanced positions he is more than capable.”
Young Saka has made a positive impression at the Emirates during his time with the Gunners. The club re-signed him this summer so Gooners will be able to enjoy his quality of play for a long time to come.
Maitland-Niles is making his second appearance on the England squad. He saw a little playing time for England in September.
It’s also being speculated that Southgate could be featuring a new front line today so he can have a look at Danny Ings and Jack Grealish leading the attack.
Arsenal fans will not have a chance to see former Gunner Aaron Ramsey line-up for Ryan Giggs Wales side. Ramsey’s domestic club, Juventus, has put their players into isolation due to a COVID-19 case on their staff.
Today’s match can be seem in the US at 3 pm EDT on ESPN+.
