The clock is ticking closer to the end of the January transfer window, and Arsenal still needs additional cover in midfield.
So far the Gunners are striking out with their wish list of contenders like Moises Caciedo. Either Arsenal coughs up the big transfer money Brighton and Hove is asking, or Arsenal will miss out on a very promising young player.
With Mo Elneny out indefinitely, with Albert Sambi Lokonga struggling and with Thomas Partey susceptible to injury, the Gunners boss needs back-up in the defensive midfield position in particular.
Could Alex Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney or Granit Xhaka fill that role if needed?
There are a lot of matches to go this season, and each and every one of them will require fit and rested players. So, the Arsenal brass need to put their noses to the grind stone today and tomorrow and find a midfielder who can help this club.
Will there be a big surprise announcement before 11 pm UK time on Tuesday?
I’m sure Gaspar Edu and Mikel Arteta have something up theirs sleeves. They always do.
Stay tuned.
