Gunners stun Foxes at King Power!

Mikel Arteta decided to rest some of his key players, and in the end the move paid him dividends. The Foxes 1, The Gunners 3!

After a sloppy defensive play in the early minutes of the match allowed an easy Leicester City goal, our team responded, and then dominated the rest of the game.

I must say, after Youri Tielemans hit the back of our net in the first six minutes of the match, I thought we were on our way to another poor Premier League performance. However, I was quickly put on notice by the Gunners as they responded to take control of the game, and score three consecutive goals for the win.

With Aubameyang, Saka, Partey, Bellerin, Gabriel and Odegaard all not in the starting XI, Arteta rolled the dice and came up with snake yes to secure the club’s 11th PL win of the season. However, even though he started a good side, I still questioned – why start Willian instead of Martinelli? This was another gamble that worked out for the boss, as Willian put on of his best performances of the season. However, with that said, I’m still wondering why we didn’t see Martinelli instead of Aubameyang as a substitute late in the game?

Like Thursday, this was a total team victory that was also a well-deserved victory. Leicester City was hoping a win would jump them into second on the PL table, however, the Gunners totally out played and out coached the Foxes on this day. And by the way, Jamie Vardy was a total “non-factor’ in this match.

Now, if the Gunners can continue this type of play throughout the remainder of the season, well, they just might be able to salvage something they can be proud of and carry over into next season.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed on that one!

Cheers.
