Havertz 2, White 2, Trossard 1 – Chelsea 0

Tuesday was a day for the record books as the Gunners demolished a somewhat out-of-sync Chelsea team 5-0 in front of a sold out Emirates Stadium!

From the first touch of the ball the Gunners looked in total control of the game. After leading 1-0 at halftime, the roof caved in for the Blues as Arsenal got second half braces from Kai Havertz and Ben White to secure the win. How about that? Ben White scores two goals in the same game!

It was great to see Thomas Partey get a start today in midfield. Partey had a solid performance, and his presence on the pitch allowed Declan Rice to play in a more advanced more in the attack. Let’s hope this starting XI remains in place for the remainder of the run-in.

In the long history of Arsenal v Chelsea that began way back in 1907, this is Arsenal’s largest defeat of their cross town rivals. Truly, a record day at the Emirates!

So, as of this writing, the Gunners lead Liverpool by 3 points and Manchester City by 4 point on the Premier League table. Liverpool plays on Wednesday, while City has two games in hand. Arsenal also has a commanding +56 advantage in the goal differential category.

With just four matches to go for Mikel Arteta’s team, the team’s engine appears to striking all cylinders once again. Following two horrible defeats last week, it’s great to see the club on a tremendous rebound, winning two games, and recording clean sheets as well.

Next up is an important North London Derby match v Tottenham Hotspur at Hotpsut Stadium. The Spurs remain in 5th place on the league table trailing Arsenal currently by 17 points. In the reverse fixture on September 24th, the neighborhood rivals battled to a 2-2 draw at Emirates Stadium.

As we have stated before, Arsenal needs to win out to have any chance of winning the Premier League title.

I believe with a little luck and some good fortune, there could be a very good chance for that to happen, however, the club has to take care of their own business first.

COYG!
