I was looking at Premier League stats this morning for our “Notes and Quotes Worthy Repeating” sidebar when, once again, reality smacked me upside the head.
After 6 Premier League matches, the Gunners have scored only 8 goals, while giving up 7! That’s a +1 goal differential, leading to a 3-0-3 PL record.
Now, I hate to sound like a broken record, however, with the likes of Aubameyang, Willian, Lacazette, Saka, Pepe and Nketiah hovering up front, one would think the Gunners would have scored at least twice that many at this point in the season. What’s really disheartening is that Tottenham Hotspur has 16 PL goes after 6 games to our 8.
Now, it’s easy to point fingers at the midfield for not being creative enough, however, our front line needs to take advantage of scoring chances when they do arise. This club can not afford to miss scoring opportunities because there might not be another chance later in the match.
After losing the last two league games 1-0, it’s time to end the drought and get our attack scoring goals again!
Thanks goodness our defense has seen improvement, or the Gunners would be lower than 11th in the league table right now.
COYG!
Cheers.
